Abstract
This report presents a study of several cases of individuals who experienced an experiential learning process, which was called "The Hero's Journey"; this name was a metaphorical resource that linked the steps of the process. For information gathering, semi-structured interviews were conducted in which it was investigated how this experience has impacted different aspects of their lives, such as motivation, learning, satisfaction, work habits, decision-making, and conflict resolution; as well as personal aspects in the employee's life, taking into account their abilities and knowledge to create and generate changes that allow them greater competitiveness in their work context. The interest in investigating experiential learning arises because different academics affirm that learning processes allow: Creating, organizing and processing information from its sources, to generate new individual, team, organizational and inter-organizational knowledge, generating a culture that facilitates it and allowing the conditions to develop new capacities, design new products and services, increase the existing offer and improve processes oriented towards sustainability (Garzón and Fischer, 2009, p. 249). As psychology students, it is considered important to investigate the impact that experiential learning can generate in the personal and work lives of some individuals, thus identifying the contributions that this type of learning allows them to obtain, both for people and for organizations, in which significant changes can be seen that contribute to development and competitiveness. For this reason, this document reports the results of a qualitative research exercise. The chapters correspond to each of the categories that emerged in the analysis process. These categories were called: "conditions to live the experiential learning process", "phases or stages of experiential learning" "advantages and changes of experiential learning", which facilitated the analysis process and the reporting of the results.
