Abstract
El diagnóstico realizado sobre la gestión de retales en Madecentro Colombia SAS ha permitido identificar importantes oportunidades de mejora en los procesos actuales. La investigación evidencia que la ausencia de procedimientos estandarizados genera inconsistencias operativas entre los diferentes puntos de venta, dificultando la trazabilidad y control de estos materiales. Las prácticas improvisadas que se aplican actualmente, si bien resuelven temporalmente necesidades inmediatas, no maximizan el valor potencial de estos recursos. El diagnóstico elaborado revela que las principales problemáticas (espacio limitado, identificación deficiente, pérdida de materiales y falta de seguimiento) están directamente relacionadas con la atención de políticas estructuradas. Esta situación no solo genera ineficiencias operativas, sino que también representa un desaprovechamiento de materiales con valor potencial que podrían beneficiar a la empresa. El análisis económico demuestra la viabilidad de las propuestas planteadas, con proyecciones que indican un impacto positivo significativo. La transformación de un problema operativo en oportunidades de generación de valor evidencia el potencial de innovación en procesos tradicionalmente considerados como secundarios o residuales en la operación. Las propuestas desarrolladas no solo responden a necesidades internas de optimización, sino que se alinean con tendencias globales de sostenibilidad y economía circular. La implementación de estrategias de aprovechamiento de retales posiciona favorablemente a Madecentro Colombia SAS como una organización comprometida con la optimización de recursos. Asimismo, la comercialización de retales y kits para proyectos DIY responde a las crecientes demandas del mercado por materiales económicos para proyectos de menor escala. La metodología implementada ha permitido desarrollar un modelo integral y adaptable de gestión de retales que abarca desde su clasificación inicial hasta su aprovechamiento final. Este enfoque diversificado (comercialización, recuperación interna, economía circular, donación y elaboración de kits) ofrece flexibilidad para adaptarse a las características específicas de cada punto de venta y maximizar el valor de estos materiales.
The diagnosis carried out on waste management at Madecentro Colombia SAS has identified significant opportunities for improvement in current processes. The research shows that the absence of standardized procedures generates operational inconsistencies among the different points of sale, hindering the traceability and control of these materials. The improvised practices currently applied, although temporarily resolving immediate needs, do not maximize the potential value of these resources. The elaborated diagnosis reveals that the main problems (limited space, deficient identification, loss of materials, and lack of follow-up) are directly related to the absence of structured policies. This situation not only generates operational inefficiencies but also represents an underutilization of materials with potential value that could benefit the company. The economic analysis demonstrates the viability of the proposed solutions, with projections indicating a significant positive impact. The transformation of an operational problem into opportunities for value generation highlights the potential for innovation in processes traditionally considered secondary or residual in operations. The developed proposals not only respond to internal optimization needs but also align with global trends in sustainability and circular economy. The implementation of waste utilization strategies favorably positions Madecentro Colombia SAS as an organization committed to resource optimization. Likewise, the commercialization of scraps and DIY project kits responds to the growing market demands for economical materials for smaller-scale projects. The implemented methodology has allowed for the development of an integral and adaptable model for waste management, covering everything from its initial classification to its final utilization.
