Abstract
This work examines the influence of director Laura Mora's discourse and work on the formative and professional experience of young women studying audiovisual communication in Medellín between 2020 and 2025. Starting from the notion of cinema as a cultural device and the performative theory of gender, the research seeks to understand how audiovisual narratives and the visibility of a female director can transform imaginaries about female leadership and guide vocational trajectories. The study is framed within a qualitative, hermeneutical approach complemented by an audiovisual component. Selected film texts by Laura Mora are analyzed, and testimonies are collected through semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and audiovisual diaries with students and young professionals in the cinematographic field in Medellín. The methodological strategy allows articulating the textual analysis of the works with the subjective resonances of the participants, capturing both aesthetic and ethical elements as well as performative effects in formative practices. The expected results seek to identify the leadership proposals present in the analyzed films, the ways in which these proposals are appropriated by students, and the degree to which Mora's figure functions as an academic and professional reference. The study provides evidence for thinking about formative policies, visibility strategies, and measures that promote gender equality in the local audiovisual industry.
