Abstract

The study subjects are the organizers, participants, and inhabitants of the neighborhood, and techniques such as semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and focus groups were used. The findings show that community cinema in Moravia has transcended as an educommunicative tool capable of articulating art, pedagogy, and social action, consolidating itself as a political act of care and resistance. The community not only participates as spectators but as creators of narratives that claim their history and project possible futures. It is concluded that the festival represents a process of collective empowerment and an example of how communication, when born locally, can transform the way a community sees itself, tells its story, and imagines itself.
