The interest of this research was based on identifying which Maladaptive schemes are predominant in some young people belonging to the EMO culture in Medellín. 80 students between 14 and 17 years old were selected, a heterogeneous group, with mixed meeting places. Work was done from cognitive psychology and Maladaptive schemes were evaluated using the YSQL2 Medellín Validation test, which evaluates 10 specific groups of these schemes. Quantitative research allowed determining the association or correlation between variables, the generation and objectification of results through a sample, to relate to this population. In the evaluation of the results, it was found that the less predominant Maladaptive Schemes are: Self-sacrifice, Vulnerability to harm and illness, Inflexible standards I, Inflexible standards II, Distrust/Abuse, Entrapment and Entitlement. The schemes of: Abandonment, Insufficient self-control/Self-discipline, Emotional deprivation and Emotional inhibition were validated as predominant Maladaptive Schemes and significant results in the evaluated population.
