El diablo surge en Medellín

Abstract

La investigación de este trabajo parte de indagar el origen estético, sociohistórico y cultural del ultra metal en Medellín, Colombia, para después observar cómo estos aspectos se reflejan en los nombres de las bandas, sonidos, fotografías y gráficos, teniendo como punto de partida las portadas de los álbumes más representativos, a través de un análisis de las formas, colores y estilo gráfico utilizados para su producción, dando como resultado un estilo particular, cargado de simbolismo e iconografía, que lo diferencia en gran medida con respecto los otros subgéneros del metal.

The research of this work starts from investigating the aesthetic, sociohistorical and cultural origin of ultra metal in Medellín, Colombia, and then observe how these aspects are reflected in the names of bands, sounds, photographs and graphics, taking as a starting point the covers of the most representative albums, through an analysis of the shapes, colors and graphic style used for their production, resulting in a particular style, full of symbolism and iconography, which differentiates it greatly from the other subgenres of the metal.
