Abstract
Método: Entrevista semiestructurada y observación no participante.
Environmental stressors are effects on the subject's daily life that can degenerate into negative effects that permeate biological, psychological and social spheres. They can be caused by factors such as excessive litter, noise, insecurity, among others. Stress is usually a natural way of coping, but when it is generated by polluting entities, a harmful relationship is generated between human beings and nature, which makes it feasible to create problems in the mental health and quality of life of individuals. Objective: To understand the perception of adults residing in the Aranjuez neighborhood (Berlín Parque) about environmental stressors in their surroundings. Method: Semi-structured interview and non-participant observation. Qualitative - phenomenological approach. Results: The most important environmental pollutants are excessive garbage, noise and insecurity. The most outstanding affectations are psycho-environmental stress, latent risk to well-being and disturbance in the reconciliation of sleep. Residential satisfaction with a sense of belonging, perception of tranquility and attachment to the place were also found. Discussion: The number of participants is assumed to be a limitation; it is suggested to deepen the study with a larger number of people.
