Exclusion practices are harmful social experiences for the identity and self-perception of those who suffer them. Among the various social groups that have historically experienced practices of social stigmatization are sexual minorities; specifically this work describes how the transgender population has experienced social stigma, thus, it is expected during the research to analyze how social stigma has influenced suicidal ideation with young people between 20 and 27 years old living in the center of the city of Medellin. For this purpose, a qualitative approach and a phenomenological method were implemented that allowed understanding the particular experiences in an interpretative way from the experience and the context of how the subject perceives them, the instruments used allowed understanding the relationship from the different interviews conducted and the results obtained, through the documentary review and the organization in categories, it was possible to identify the similarities and differences between the theory and the results obtained. Finally, it was possible to show that people who suffer this type of experience have a permanent struggle to achieve recognition, in a society in which processes such as social stigmatization is a way of categorizing and representing some groups that are part of the transgender population and how stigma has an impact on suicidal ideation
