Abstract
This research analyzes the participation of women entrepreneurs in Medellín in participatory communication spaces, and how this contributes to their social, economic, and personal empowerment. This study arises from the need to understand how communication can become a means of transforming and strengthening processes led by women, who play an increasingly relevant role in the social and economic development of the city. From the outset, it is also recognized that communication is an essential tool for social change, as it allows women to strengthen their autonomy, make their experiences visible, and build everything from action, fostering support networks that enhance their ventures. A qualitative approach is adopted, with a descriptive and exploratory nature, aimed at understanding social phenomena from the experiences and meanings of the participants. The study worked with 11 women entrepreneurs and 3 organizations that support female entrepreneurship processes (EF1, EF2, EF3). To collect information, individual interviews, life stories, observation, and a focus group techniques were used. As a result, it is evident that participatory communication is a fundamental tool for strengthening female entrepreneurship; through dialogue, listening, collaborative work, recognition and exchange of knowledge, and respect for cultural diversity, entrepreneurs manage to consolidate trust, boost their projects, and strengthen their personal and social development. It is concluded that working on female empowerment is a collective process built in community and that participatory communication, by being close and inclusive, becomes a transformative force that promotes the comprehensive well-being of women and strengthens their social fabric.
