Abstract
This article analyzes how Colombian political history can help develop strategies for reading and writing skills for English classes in young students from public High Schools in the
country. Analyzes how these events can be decisive and relevant at the moment of giving personal opinions and making a critical reflection of the History of a country. This paper highlights the
importance of recognizing history as a fundamental part of learning, through specific events that have been relevant in Colombian history and highlights the importance of using EFL as a medium to communicate through this analysis, evidencing the role that plays students and their reflection through the Academy.
